The BoE is the catalyst that breaks the deadlock. A hawkish hold — pushing back on near-term cuts — would likely propel cable through 1.2775 toward 1.2810 and the July high. A dovish tilt, by contrast, would send GBP/USD back to 1.2700 and potentially through it, opening 1.2660. With the dollar leg biased softer, the domestic story is the swing factor.

For now, the disciplined approach is to trade the range edges rather than the middle: fade into 1.2775 with a stop above 1.2790, or buy dips into 1.2705 with a stop under 1.2685 — and stand aside into the BoE decision itself, where a single headline can invalidate any technical read.
